Disaster Preparation, Relief and Assistance

Many natural disasters happen without warning, but there are steps you can take to prepare for the unexpected:
- Sign up for our online account where you can easily view your mortgage information and enroll in paperless billing.
- Plan for a natural disaster and understand what to do in its aftermath by following the MBA’s Disaster Recovery Resource Paper.
- Pay attention to weather reports and listen to local officials for updates and instructions.
- Download the FEMA App for real-time alerts and emergency resources.
- Keep copies of your insurance policies and personal documents in a password-protected digital space.
- Review your homeowner’s insurance coverage to ensure it is up to date.
If your home has sustained damage due to a natural disaster:
- Contact your insurance company immediately to start your claim.
- Document the damage with your adjuster before making repairs.
- Once approved, submit the required insurance documentation to us for processing.
- Your mortgage company’s name may appear on the claim check, since lenders have a financial interest in the property. Our shared goal is to have your property repaired as quickly as possible.
If your finances have been impacted by a natural disaster:
- If your area is FEMA-designated, additional assistance options may be available.
- We will send communications via email and text with instructions on how to apply.
